Report an incident

If you have experienced or witnessed violence, a threat, harassment, vandalism or another serious incident in Canada — including one you believe was identity-motivated — you can report it here. Every report is reviewed by a person at CRRIC before anything is published.

If you or someone else is in danger, call 911. This form is for documentation and research. It is not monitored around the clock and is not a way of reporting to police or emergency services.

Privacy

Your name, email and any files are stored in a restricted area and never published or given a public link. See the privacy notice.

Retention

Reports that are not published are kept for review for up to 12 months, then contact details and files are deleted. Published records keep the incident, not you.

What happens next

Submitted → under review → verified, needs more information, or out of scope. A verified report is published with its evidence level shown.

What happened

Please do not include the names, addresses or images of private individuals.

Where

Published records show the municipality only — never an address.

Kind of incident
Also fits (optional)
Who was targeted (if identity was a factor)

Add each identity you believe was targeted. Leave empty if you don’t know — an unknown is recorded as unknown, never guessed.

Evidence and sources

Files go to a restricted store that only CRRIC reviewers can open. They are never published and never given a public link.

About you (optional)

You can report anonymously. Verification is harder without a way to reach you, so the record may stay at Reported / Pending Review.

CPO verification is a research assessment, not a police finding or a judicial ruling. Reports that name private individuals as offenders will not be published in that form. Read the methodology and corrections and takedown procedure.
